My Greatest Sin

“But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. ”

—Matthew 15:18-19

Reflecting on my life as Tristan Moore and my life as a ferocious, heartless, cannibal. Keeping the two identities separate to keep from losing my mind was difficult. I was at war with myself daily. Torn between what is morally right and what I needed to survive. I wasn’t always a vicious killer.

Now, I look into someone’s eyes and see a meal. The pain of trying to resist weakened me to tears. To feed on someone’s flesh used to make my stomach turn. I overcome this weakness, standing in the shadows watching Raven. She made it look so easy, leaving me her leftovers.

This weakness made me a target for her cruelty. She toyed with me and I played her game. I was a slave, serving her without question and with great delight. Year after Year, Raven became more beautiful. There was only one problem, all she became was outer beauty. Centuries of living had made her heartless. This lovely, simple beauty had let me live.

But this was no vampire fairytale of love…

The worse she treated me the more I loved her. I craved her acceptance until it became my everyday pain.

At the time, I did not see myself as a prisoner or even a sex slave. I glorified her with everything that I am. She was my protector. She was my lover. She was my friend. As she distanced me from the outside world, keeping me indoors, she went as far as to chain me to our bedpost.

“You are so weak. I never let anyone live,”

Raven’s words echoed in my head, as I thought of her beautiful face inches from mine.

“I didn’t have the heart to kill you,” she said, as she chillingly gripped my face with one hand and rubbed my bare chest with the other, “You are mine. All mine, Tristan,”

Raven’s eyes strolled over my nude body and I shuddered with desire. With all my strength and all my power, Why? Why did I not break free?

The truth is, I wanted her to feel safe, wrapped in my loyalty. It was her security. I was her prize. A good-looking man who was true blue and dedicated only to her.

“I won’t share you with anyone,”

She dropped to her knees, kissing me with intense pleasure.

Her jealous, insane words should have frightened me, but no. I enjoyed her vanilla, strawberry, chocolate flavored kisses.

“I will kill you myself, my first creation,” she whispered in my ear.

Though her lips spoke to me of death, I found life, comfort, and serenity in the life we had made together. My prayer was for God to keep Raven safe and to forgive us for the sins we committed. She, like I, was different, but god was still the center base of our unity and we praised him for every meal.
